- Protease Supplementation Partially Alleviates the Negative Effects of Low-Protein Diets on Growth Performance in Weaned Piglets 


This study evaluated the effects of reducing dietary crude protein (CP) levels and protease supplementation on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and fecal score in weaned piglets.

Piglets fed the diet with a 2% reduction in dietary CP showed lower body weight (BW) and average daily gain (ADG), whereas protease supplementation partially restored BW and ADG.

However, nutrient digestibility and fecal score were not affected by the dietary treatments.


These findings suggest that protease supplementation partially alleviates the negative effects of reduced dietary CP on growth performance, indicating that it may help support piglet growth under low-protein feeding conditions.
